The Lobo traditional house of the Kulawi people is a stilt-style house built above the ground. It serves as a venue for deliberations, customary court sessions, and traditional ceremonies.

Based on its structure, the Lobo house consists of three main parts: the base structure, the middle structure, and the upper structure. The base structure is composed of round timber (banaloa) supported by six limestone foundation blocks (umpak), all tied together using rattan ropes. In the middle structure, the floor is constructed from large and small wooden beams arranged longitudinally and transversely, then fastened to the supporting pillars with rattan bindings. The floorboards are made from wide and thick wooden planks to ensure durability and to suit the cold climate of Kulawi. The walls of the Lobo house are made of wooden planks that are not tightly fitted, allowing air to circulate freely. To prevent the walls from shifting, a small round timber is inserted at the top of each wall as a clamp. In the upper structure, the ridge beam is supported by the main pillars of the building, while the roof covering is made of alipa and kaha wood, sliced thinly and resistant to water.

The Lobo traditional house is typically adorned with buffalo horns, buffalo head carvings, spearhead and guma-hilt motifs, as well as male and female genital symbols. Buffalo horns are usually mounted on the raja pillar, symbolizing grandeur and wealth and indicating the social status of the owner. Buffalo head carvings are often featured around the walls, especially on the front side of the house. Spearhead and guma-hilt decorations, carved from wooden boards, represent the courage and patriotism of the Kulawi people in facing threats. Genital symbols, considered sacred ornaments, are commonly placed on the interior walls and symbolize fertility and the continuous regeneration of the community to preserve their customs and traditions.

Rumah adat Lobo khas Suku Kulawi termasuk rumah jenis di atas tiang atau rumah panggung.
